In the shadows of the night in Caldwell, New York, there’s a deadly turf war raging between vampires and their slayers. There exists a secret band of brothers like no other-six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. Possessed by a deadly beast, Rhage is the most dangerous of the Black Dagger Brotherhood.

Within the brotherhood, Rhage is the vampire with the strongest appetites. He’s the best fighter, the quickest to act on his impulses, and the most voracious lover-for inside him burns a ferocious curse cast by the Scribe Virgin. Owned by this dark side, Rhage fears the time when his inner dragon is unleashed, making him a danger to everyone around him.

Mary Luce, a survivor of many hardships is unwittingly thrown into the vampire world and reliant on Rhage’s protection. With a life-threatening curse of her own, Mary is not looking for love. She lost her faith in miracles years ago. But when Rhage’s intense animal attraction turns into something more emotional, he knows that he must make Mary his alone. And while their enemies close in, Mary fights desperately to gain life eternal with the one she loves…

MY THOUGHTS…

“You don’t know me.”

“I know all about you, and everything I see is beautiful. Everything I see is mine.”

It’s not that hard to adore this series. More so this second installment of Black Dagger Brotherhood that highlights more about the super hot, ravishing, “Hollywood” Rhage.

This time around, we get to know Rhage even better. And guess what, his character is beyond my expectations. I didn’t expect to discover some revelations about himself and I also did not realize that behind the playboy of the brotherhood, with every girl hooking up with him, is someone who has fears and weaknesses, too. If you think Rhage is perfection, he’s not. But he’s beautiful! As what Mary described him…

He was… death. Death in a beautiful package.

And not only is he a great, yummy package. He’s every woman wants. Although his love affair with Mary was kind of instant, I think his growing devotion to her is deep and strong. The one that’s perfect you just want to cry. (Excuse me for being cheesy. Lol.)

“No offense, but there are a hundred thousand women in this zip code who would not only let you into their homes, but would take you to bed. Why don’t you go find one of them and leave me alone?”

“They aren’t you.”

Swooning to the highest level! Well, everything about this book is exceptional. The action scenes are brilliantly written and adrenaline-pulling. I also love every character in this book. They’re strong, witty, and with unique personalities.

And although the ending is quite predictable, still, it’s a great and enjoyable installment! 🙂
