Hunted across the True Sea, haunted by the lives she took on the Fold, Alina must try to make a life with Mal in an unfamiliar land, all while keeping her identity as the Sun Summoner a secret. But she can’t outrun her past or her destiny for long.
The Darkling has emerged from the Shadow Fold with a terrifying new power and a dangerous plan that will test the very boundaries of the natural world. With the help of a notorious privateer, Alina returns to the country she abandoned, determined to fight the forces gathering against Ravka. But as her power grows, Alina slips deeper into the Darkling’s game of forbidden magic, and farther away from Mal. Somehow, she will have to choose between her country, her power, and the love she always thought would guide her–or risk losing everything to the oncoming storm.
Siege and Storm is the second book in The Grisha Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo.
“We are alike, as no one else is, as no one else will ever be.”
This book only describes one thing– INTENSE! From the very beginning, I already enjoyed it because there was already some action going on. It got me feeling exhilarated and thrilled.
What I love about this second installment of The Grisha series is that Leigh Bardugo never fails to execute a kind of sequel that responds well to the first book. She also made a challenging deal by introducing new characters who eventually became remarkable in this book. Speaking of new characters, I was sooo fascinated with Nikolai Lantsov! Ladies, brace yourselves because it’s time for you to meet a royal blood hotness incarnate!
This book is really damn good, though I was honestly looking for more scenes that involves the Darkling. However, the ending left me feeling more and more curious of what’s about to happen in the third and final installment of the series. Looking forward for more intensifying scenes!
