“What the mind forgets, the heart remembers.”
Brandy Curtis is a strong and independent career woman who does not care for commitment. She prefers no strings-attached, one night stands because that’s all she can give with what little free time she has. This is the life she has chosen and the life she is used to.
However, everything changed when she met Ivo, a gorgeous doctor with irresistible charm. He was just supposed to be another hookup, but he quickly became so much more. The more nights they spent together, the more Brandy felt that life had given her something to live for.
Things seemed perfect… until a visit to the doctor sends her world crashing. The timing couldn’t be worse. As her heart gets closer to Ivo, her memories begin to fade.
Will Brandy be able to actually live her life with Ivo… or will she succumb to the condition that threatens to claim her forever?

Forever Night Stand reminded me of certain emotional books and movies such as The Notebook and If I Stay. This book, however, started off a bit jovial and later on delivered an air of melancholy.
When columnist Brandy Curtis went to Italy to attend her brother’s wedding, she met the gorgeous Italian guy named Ivo. There was an instant attraction between them and this attraction led to a one night stand. But because they simply can’t resist each other and their slowly growing affection, they decided to stick together. As their relationship progressed, Ivo found out that Brandy was slowly developing an Alzheimer’s Disease due to the manifestations that she was showing. What’s worse than having this kind of dilemma in a promising relationship?
Despite its sad premise, the book was somewhat a light and easy read. I loved the way the beautiful country Italy was described and those lovely little details. The romance was well-developed and there were over-the-top sensual interludes as well. The interactions between Brandy and her followers that were seeking her relationship advice also created a nice sub-plot.
However, my enjoyment for this book was affected by how Brandy annoyed me at times. Alright, I get that she’s having some issues especially because of her condition, but the way she treated other people, especially Ivo, was kind of mean. She was such a brat.
I also had an issue when it comes to the writing. It was a little inconsistent at times. As for the plot, some scenes tend to be abrupt while there were scenes that kind of dragged. Needless to say, the story was still good and unforgettable. The sense of drama and heartbreak were the strong qualities here. Overall, it’s a book with an emotional depth. If you want your heart to be squeezed for a moment, I recommend you to read this novel. 🙂
