Synopsis new

Libby Moore is trying to figure out what to do with her life. She has graduated high school, but there’s only one thing she’s ever truly wanted in life…the one thing she can’t have…her stepbrother, Jasper.

Jasper Lewis tried to get away from the one person he shouldn’t want. But moving only a couple of miles away was a pitiful effort, and he’s tired of resisting what he wants. He’s coming back to claim what’s been his since day one, no matter what the consequences.

This taboo love is so dirty, so wrong, and your lady business is gonna thank you!

Warning: It’s okay if you like it, because this is a judgment-free zone. But these two are about to get it on like their dad may walk in at any moment. Enjoy!!

my thoughts new

Don’t get me wrong. I love Alexa Riley. Her taboo smutty books are really enticing. But I feel like her storylines are kind of repetitive and they are slowly getting old (in my opinion). This book was no different.

Libby Moore is secretly in love with her stepbrother Jasper Lewis. Jasper, on the other hand, feels the same way about Libby. Ever since Libby’s mom married Jasper’s dad, they’ve already been attracted to each other. However, Jasper didn’t want to cross the line by hitting on his stepsister so he moved on his own so he can avoid her. But because they simply can’t get away from each other and the sexual tension is always there, they’re about to do the forbidden.

Just like Alexa Riley’s previous books, this book was a short and fast moving read. What I loved about it was the fact that it has enough substance that equals the amount of smut. However, I didn’t feel connected to any of the characters. The steamy scenes were of course, uber hot and Jasper was such a dirty talker but oh my, why did I encounter the word “kitty” again? I swear this word was always present in the previous books. (?) lol.

Anyways, I believe fans of Alexa Riley will enjoy this book more than I did. I just don’t think this is her best.

Synopsis new

I have discovered the witch who started this disaster, and her name is Cecile. She is the lock around my husband’s heart; she is the barrier between me and everything I ever wanted.

I have decided to fight. For his heart, for my father, for the Jimmy Choos that rest on my perfectly manicured feet. The problem with a fight is that there is ultimately a loser. And in a situation like this, she has the advantage and a clear head start.

But I am here, and she is not. And I have not shared everything. I have some secrets and some advantages of my own. I will fight to the death, if not of my body, than of my heart. And if my heart is destroyed in this battle, I will find a way to survive. Poor planning may not be the final chapter in my story.

*Do Us Part is a novella, 16,000 words in length, and was the final volume of The Dumont Diaries, a 4-part series.

my thoughts new

“I was always his, and I finally believe that he is fully mine. To have. To hold. Till death. Do us part.”

I feel like I’m kind of twisted for loving Nathan Dumont but what can I do? He’s simply one of those characters that will hook me no matter how dark and strange they are. In this final novella of The Dumont Diaries, Alessandra Torre gave a gripping and satisfying finale that had me on the edge of my seat.

What I enjoyed most about this part was how Candy stood up for herself and found a way to up her game and secure her future. I also loved the conclusion when it comes to the romance and the whole story itself. It was the ending that I was hoping for. All in all, it was a fantastic, twisted, sexy book. The series was well-written and quickly engaging. A classic Alessandra Torre masterpiece!

Synopsis new

He watches me. Watches as my husband makes me submit, makes me do things that, even in their depravity, bring me pleasure. He knows what I like, and how I like it. But while Nathan dominates my body, Drew is interested more in my soul.

I can only bend so far before I break. Drew is my crack, my weak point around which everything else splinters. Even as more secrets are unveiled and all of the signs point to danger, I roll farther into this world. Into this high-brow life, into both of their beds.

But to what end? At this point, I don’t know what’s in more danger: my heart or my life. For these men, these two men who I am pushed and pulled between? They seem to be much more interested in my death than they ever were my life.

Till Death is a novella, approximately 55 pages, and was book 3 of a 4-part series.

my thoughts new

“I believe, with all of the rules involved in my life, that my heart should have some. It shouldn’t be allowed to care for a man who is incapable of loving it back.”

“My heart, like the rest of my body, doesn’t like to follow rules.”

Alessandra Torre sure knows how to twist my mind and make me beg for more answers. The mystery in this novel continues to bug me and kind of affect me in a sick yet good way. There was certainly a lot of revelations here. Still, I want more!

What stunned me the most here was the opening paragraph. It was kind of a plot twist and a shocker. I believe there is really more into this complicated situation Candy is in and that’s the thing that keeps this novella series more intriguing. In this part, I’ve seen some huge development when it comes to Candy’s character. I loved how she didn’t just sit around waiting for nothing but instead she decided to find out what’s really going on in the Dumont house. I want to applaud her for that!

“This is my life. My Worth. My sanity.”

This was yet another great novella for this series. More intrigues came around and oh, I also hinted some romantic development between Nathan and Candy. Not quite sure if Nathan is for her, or Drew, but I hope the last novella will answer it.
