Synopsis new

Ryke Meadows, meet Daisy Calloway … she’s all grown up.

Twenty-five-year-old Ryke Meadows knows he’s hard to love. With a billion-dollar inheritance, a track-star resume, and an alpha-male personality—he redefines the term likable asshole. But he’s not living to make friends. Or enemies. He just wants to free climb three of the toughest mountains in Yosemite without drama or interruption.

And then he receives a distressed call from a girl in Paris—a girl that he has never been allowed to have.

Daisy Calloway is eighteen. Finally. With her newfound independence, she can say goodbye to her overbearing mother and continue her modeling career. Next stop, Paris. Fashion Week begins with a bang, and Daisy uncovers the ugly reality of the industry. She wants to prove to her family that she can live on her own, but when everything spirals out of control, she turns to Ryke to keep her secrets.

As Daisy struggles to make sense of this new world and her freedom, she pushes the limits and fearlessly rides the edge. Ryke knows there’s deep hurt beneath every impulsive action. He must keep up with Daisy, and if he lets her go, her favorite motto—“live as if you’ll die today”—may just come true.

It’s official. Hothouse Flower is my favorite book in the series so far. And RAISY is my favorite OTP!

description

I can’t get enough of how good this sequel is. I have always been a fan of Ryke Meadows and Daisy Calloway ever since the earlier books. It’s because of their undeniable chemistry. I love their age difference and the fact that Ryke Meadows is several years older than Daisy. Their relationship was so good that I actually wasn’t able to help myself smiling, laughing, and swooning over them from the very first page up to the last.

Krista Ritchie and Becca Ritchie did not disappoint. As the series goes on, the writing becomes more and more beautiful and heartfelt. What’s even great is the humor in every page. It’s very entertaining and it’s also filled with witty conversations and banters. (I especially love the Connor-Ryke banters and Lo-Rose banters) Seriously, this book is making me laugh out loud… A LOT!

The romantic plot of this book is also remarkable. Ryke and Daisy’s attraction towards each other in the earlier books was very apparent but this time, their feelings are already unstoppable. I especially love the way Ryke comforts Daisy and supports her whenever she experiences night terrors and paranoia. The way he always stays with her despite the fact that everyone around them are against their love affair was so touching.

The way Ryke also proves to Daisy that she deserves so much better when it comes to guys… I’m speechless. No words. Ryke is everything!

“Every theory you’ve ever fucking had about men, I’m going to prove wrong.”

description

Lo, Lily, Rose, and Connor also made remarkable appearances in this book. The sequel will never be complete without these lovable characters that I have grown to love all throughout the series! Some parts also made me teary-eyed, especially Ryke and Jonathan’s relationship development.

Hothouse Flower was overall a great and enjoyable sequel. It’s so difficult not to like it, just the like rest of the books in this series. This is one of the best series I’ve ever come across!

She’s the sun. I’m the dark. If she’s gone, I can kiss that fucking light away. Without her, I know I’ll never see it again.

Synopsis new

Virgin. Sex addict. Daredevil. Alcoholic. Smartass … Jackass. Her five friends are about to be filmed. Reality TV, be prepared.

Rose Calloway thought she had everything under control. At twenty-three, she’s a Princeton graduate, an Academic Bowl champion, a fashion designer and the daughter of a Fortune 500 mogul. But with a sex addict as a sister and roommate, nothing comes easy.

After accepting help from a producer, Rose agrees to have her life filmed for a reality television show. The Hollywood exec is her last chance to revive her struggling fashion line, and boundaries begin to blur as she’s forced to make nice with a man who always has his way.

Twenty-four-year-old Connor Cobalt is a guy who bulldozes weak men. He’s confident, smart-as-hell and lives with his equally ambitious girlfriend, Rose Calloway. Connor has to find a way to protect Rose without ruining the show. Or else the producer will get what Connor has always wanted—Rose’s virginity.

This New Adult Romance can be described as Friends meets The Real World. Expect fist fights, drugs, sex of varying degrees, crude humor and competitive alpha males. Definitely for mature readers audiences only.

This beautiful continuation of the Addicted series couldn’t get any better! I just love it! In this book, we see more of the genius lovers Rose Calloway and Connor Cobalt. And like the first books in the series, their team-up and chemistry were just totally good!

description

What I loved about Kiss the Sky is that it’s totally refreshing. I haven’t read a book that basically shows the characters’ strengths and flaws through a reality TV show. Reading this book made me feel like I’m basically watching Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Only this book features Princesses of Philly which is the name of the Calloway sisters’ reality TV show. Like, seriously how amazing is that? 🙂

The romance in this book was so much better! There were times when I can’t help but grin from ear to ear because of the characters’ swoony and entertaining dialogues and interactions– especially the sexy banters! And there were times when I try not to burst out laughing because of the funny scenes.

There were also a lot of dramas that happened in this book. But unlike the previous books, they were just light. And oh, the smexy scenes… who can’t resist them when they focus on the virgin perfectionist and the smartass hero?

The writing, as always, was brilliant and real. Krista and Becca Ritchie totally nailed a New Adult novel that has it all. Literally. Hands down to these amazing authors! I will definitely read the next books in this series. 🙂

Synopsis new

He’s addicted to booze. She’s addicted to sex… staying sober is only half the battle.

No. More. Sex.

Those are the three words Lily Calloway fears the most. But Loren Hale is determined to be with Lily without enabling her dangerous compulsions. With their new living situation—sleeping in the same bed, for real, together—Lily has new battles. Like not jumping Lo’s bones every night. Not being consumed by sex and his body.

Loren plans to stay sober, to right all of his wrongs. So when someone threatens to expose Lily’s secret to her family and the public, he promises that he’ll do anything to protect her. But with old enemies surfacing, Lo has more at stake than his sobriety.

They will torment Lily until Lo breaks.

And his worst fear isn’t relapsing. He hears the end. He sees it. The one thing that could change everything. Just three words.

No. More. Us.

my thoughts new

After all we’ve been through. Years and years of mistakes, it feels like a dream to be here in this moment. Right now. Sober. Alive. With her.

It always feels so nice when you’re reading such a good great book. This sequel of the Addicted series is one of the most captivating installments I’ve read so far. Usually I end up feeling disappointed in a sequel, but this one was wonderfully written that it’s so hard not to feel completely immersed in it.

Addicted for Now starts where Ricochet ended. This time, Lo comes back sober after three months of staying at the rehab to mend his alcohol addiction. Their reunion turn out sweet, but there is a strange person who bombards them with text messages, threatening them to expose Lily’s secret as a sex addict to the public. Despite the strong dedication they have for each other, things just make everything tough for them… which leaves us wondering how these love birds’ commitment for each other stand the test of time.

I absolutely don’t have enough words to adequately describe how much this book gave me the depth of emotions after reading this. It’s a perfect continuation of the series. I have no idea if this book will be the final book for Lily and Lo (I don’t wanna know ‘coz I want to be surprised) but I think the ending is already satisfying and I cannot ask for a better conclusion for their story.

description

Lily and Lo are such a perfect couple! I mean, where else can we find such dedicated characters? I admire their devotion to each other despite the difficult things that surround them including their family struggles. There was absolutely no cheating that happened in this book and in the previous books, to my relief– which is another factor that makes everything really great. Another thing that I loved about this book is the character development of Lily and Lo– the way they slowly conquered their addiction and beat it. I was awed.

The drama is also the book’s absolute strength. I’m not even kidding when I say the last few chapters of the book made me cry. The conflict was perfectly executed that I literally burst into tears. Oh, Krista and Becca… the things you do to my heart!

Now I’m even more excited to find out Rose and Connor’s story in the next book. Kiss the Sky, wait for me! 🙂

She’s addicted to sex. He’s addicted to booze…the only way out is rock bottom.

No one would suspect shy Lily Calloway’s biggest secret. While everyone is dancing at college bars, Lily stays in the bathroom. To get laid. Her compulsion leads her to one-night stands, steamy hookups and events she shamefully regrets. The only person who knows her secret happens to have one of his own.

Loren Hale’s best friend is his bottle of bourbon. Lily comes at a close second. For three years, they’ve pretended to be in a real relationship, hiding their addictions from their families. They’ve mastered the art of concealing flasks and random guys that filter in and out of their apartment.

But as they sink beneath the weight of their addictions, they cling harder to their destructive relationship and wonder if a life together, for real, is better than a lie. Strangers and family begin to infiltrate their guarded lives, and with new challenges, they realize they may not just be addicted to alcohol and sex.

Their real vice may be each other.

my thoughts

We’re terrible at so many things, but the only thing we’ve always been halfway decent at is being together.

A New Adult book at its finest! So many feels!

description

To my fabulous friend Scarlett who heartily recommended this book and this series to me, I owe you one, girl! A big thank you! (Check out her beautiful review on this book 🙂

Addicted to You is definitely a book that made me become literally addicted. As a lover of New Adult genre, I expected myself to feel drawn with this book the moment I started it, because well.. it’s apparently a guilty-pleasure read. And I’m happy to say that this book is not just about sex. It comes in a very emotional, unique romantic storyline that absolutely tugs the heart.

This book is a story about Lily Calloway and Loren Hale— two perfectly flawed characters who are secretly self-conscious about their addiction. Lily, a girl who is addicted to sex, grew up together with her bestfriend and pretend boyfriend Loren a.k.a Lo, who is on the other hand, addicted to alcohol. On the outside, they may look a really perfect couple because of their rich, shiny families, but little did everyone know that they have secrets that they shamefully keep. Thus, they choose to appear perfect and depend on each other to sustain their addiction.

We may not be good for each other, but sometimes I feel like he’s the only guy who could ever love me.

The book definitely gave me a lot of surprises. The characters have this undeniable chemistry. Not to mention that Lo is absolutely one scorching hot male lead. Definitely a new book boyfriend to add on my list. And as the cover suggests, apparently it’s one hot and smexy read. But like I said, it’s not only about sex– it’s filled with emotionally-driven romance, twists, and drama. I was so surprised to find myself ugly crying with this book, especially at the last parts. The ending was so emotional and a cliffhanger as well.

And I suppose, the fear of losing each other is always stronger than the pain we cause.

As a whole, this book is definitely a must-read. I appreciate the message it carries, specifically about accepting the person you love despite the imperfections and holding on to that person until the very end. I also appreciate the way family love was emphasized here. It’s a book with a real emotional depth. Officially, it’s now my new favorite New Adult book! 🙂
